Give God a Chance

by

John C. Westervelt

I live in man’s world which has been molded by human nature. This means there are problems in my life and many discouraging ones in the life of my country.

Eating breakfast on my patio, I observe God’s world. The cloud patterns are unique for this morning alone. The neighborhood trees hold the sun out of my face for an hour past official sunrise. The cool air prickles my shorts-clad legs. The rose bushes try to outdo each other in the beauty of their opening buds. The only sounds are those of hungry birds discussing plans to forage for their breakfast.

I must remember to give God a chance to encourage me, for given the opportunity, He will.
